My server is with wombat server I live in perth and the server is located in Sydney.its a simple server 256mb ram I think because my parents won't let them use their credit card I asked my co-hosts yes I do have a youtube to buy the server. When he joined and I joined it was laggy it said it would hold max 5 people. He told me to go close a cactus to look if I was taking damage I wasn't but he was,that meens it's laggy for me not him ,why ,but when I went to the site the ram bar was red that ment I need more ram for my server but why wasn't he laggin also we did the speed test thing he was 5mbps I was like 2 does that meen it's my Internet problem or ram because when I join other servers. It not laggy as my so yea much appreciated were paying 7 dollars per month -ken

Resolved Question: If I have the source files, is it possible to re-create a DLL?
I play Terraria, and as such I want a dedicated server. I found one, called TDSM. They have plugins which are made only of .dll files. There are a few I am looking at, however I try to download them and receive a 404 and a 403 (I know what those are). So, downloading them is out of the question. However... They every have GitHub sources, which I CAN download. However... They are .cs files. I need to know if I can recompile those into a single (or maybe a few) .dll, so I can use it. I have no experience with coding of this sort, but I do have Eclipse if that helps. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Minecraft suddenly lags every time I try to play on a server. It started about two days ago. Before this, I have no problems at every, but this time, it suddenly occurs. The lag is really bad. Sometimes it says "Minecraft is out of memory". I tried playing on single player, and there was no lag at every, everything is just completely smooth. I tried using the optifine mod and adjusting the video settings, but everything just won't work. I also created my possess server and tried playing on it, but Minecraft still lags so bad. I am so frustrated. I don't know what to do. I can't play Minecraft with my friends anymore if the lag can't be fixed. I have question about building a dedi server..I'm planning to service my dedicated server,can i limit how many people could be on the server or i can't? and do u really a TB bandwidth connection? my connection is good at 50 mpbs, but i could upgrade my connection 101 mpb through my ISP...but not sure if i could upgrade more than that, i would have to ask... and do u need any skils to manager the server? and would windows or linux be good for a server?

You know it will be the same sh*t again just like every the other COD games. They barely put any work into that game. tiny maps, weak graphics, no dedicated servers which cause lag, lots of lag, noobs receive compensated for having cheap internet, death streaks to help noobs ruin your streak..lol did I miss anything? The developers know people will buy it no matter what, so they don't even care if the game is crap. I thought MW2 was good so I bought MW3 and I was so disappointed. Open Question: Setting up a home network, need some help?
I am starting to setup my home network and down the road in about a year or 2, I plan to start up a data middle business. I have a most of the things needed but would like to hear what else I would need if I am missing something. This is what I have so far. I have a cisco router 2651 2600 series, Cisco Catayst 2950 router,, I currently have my Netgear Firewall router and Netgear unmanaged switch setup currently on my network but I will most likely take them down and just have the Cisco Switch and Router but may keep both Netgear and Cisco hooked up. I will be using OpenSUSE, CentOS, and Ubuntu for my main servers and prob down the road use ClearOS as a firewall. I will also have a dedicated place once I receive a job after I graduate and receive my IT degree in Computer networking technology but would adore some feed back on what else I should have. I am currently using old desktops as my servers but of course I will have real servers down the road. wish to hear back soon. I am unsure if I will be using any Windows servers or not. But I don't mind having suggestions about having windows. I prefer Linux over Windows any day and I can set up my servers to allow Windows programs to work with Linux.

Resolved Question: how does WOW membership work?
ok so i recently got into WOW and did the trial. The trial allows me to play to lvl 20. Once i reach lvl 20 i can still play but i won't be able to lvl anymore until i buy the battle chest. the battle chest lets me go to like 80 i think (with every 3 expansions combined) so my question is. If you can just buy the battle chest to lvl what is the membership fee for? do i have to buy both battle chest and membership fee to play? i play yugioh, vanguard, and spend almost every day and every night on Black Ops 2 or on Runescape. I believe 2009 my life was already ruined. anyway i don't need opinions or inputs on how good or bad the game is i just need to know the answer to my question.

Resolved Question: Are game makers doing it for money?
Please, I want a list of reasons you think that video games are being made for money, consoles too. Companies are making you pay $70 for a game, then make you pay a lot more for DLC's and stuff you have to pay for to receive in a game you've already paid for. In my opinion you should receive what you paid for. Season passes are ridiculous.. The PS4 and XBOX 720 will not be able to play used games, or any previous console games. PS4 and XBOX 720 games will be priced at $99.99, rather than $59.99. What else can you think of? Ezio dude, I make games, you don't even know what you're talking about. Though it does cost a buttload to pay the thousands of people they have working on the single game only so that it comes out faster. Another example. (Rushed games)

Open Question: How many people can my Minecraft server handle?
I have a dedicated server. Hardware wise, I have an i7 3770 at 4.3ghz, 8gb of RAM (6gb occupies server) running Ubuntu, and a 500gb 7200rpm HDD. I also have a internet connection of 50mbps. At the moment, just to be safe, the server's max player count is 45. Up to how many players can my server hold? Plugins: mcMMO Factions Health Bar Silks Spawners Backs up every 1 hour World Edit World Guard PI3x Signs No Cheat Plus Block Breaker bPermissions Obsidian Destroyer and maybe a couple other plugins I cannot remember.

I have an app to control my normal PC but I have to turn the PC, open the program etc. What I plan on doing is having some sort of PC on a dedicated host, I wouldn't need amazing specs, just basic stuff. It would need a Windows OS and would basically be a tower that connects to my phone. The reason I don't want to have it at home is because of power usage and costs. Any ideas on how I would do this? How much it would cost?

Open Question: HLDS updating for tf2 dedicated server?
I've tried updating my tf2 server (98.209.23.84:27014) but it won't work. When connecting to the server (When it is up) it says that the server is running and older version of the game, so I can't join. I've tried updating via HldsUpdateTool but it simply crashes after it's done. The command prompt that shows up simply shows a list of games, which doesn't even make sense. After, I've used steamcmd to update. I've put the .exe into my HLServer folder where every my server information and etc. are placed. I run the .exe and it shows this: C:\HLServer>c:\HLServer\steamcmd.exe -command update -game tf -dir "c:\HLServer" -verify_all -retry Redirecting strderr to 'c:\HLServer\logs\stderr.txt' ILocalize::AddFile<> failed to load file "public/steambootstrapper_english.txt". So to run a dedicated server for a game, i have to forward a few ports 7707 UDP/IP (Game Port) 7708 UDP/IP (Query Port) 7717 UDP/IP (GameSpy Query Port) 28852 TCP/IP and UDP (Allows your Server to Connect to the Master Server Browser) 8075 TCP/IP (Port set via ListenPort that your WebAdmin will run on) 20560 UDP/IP (Steam Port) Now, I have never port forwarded before, so i was wondering if this would make me more vulnerable to hackers and such. Also the server is just for me and my 2 friends, no one else would be able to connect to it if it matters.

I've never used a CDN and i'm not sure if this is what I need to do or not. The host I currently use is not good for using a ton of images, and one of my websites has a TON of images. Are there any hosts that have a better upload rate for viewers? Do hosts even offer anything like this? What determines how quick a site loads for someone compared to what host you use? Are there any factors involved or does a host just host at whatever speed they feel like? Do I absolutely 100% need to use a CDN for these images? It's at least $20+ per month.

Voting Question: Destroy Hard Drive Data from Rented Server?
Destroy difficult steer Data from Rented Server? I'm renting a dedicated server right now, but decided to receive my possess server to clip on costs. Since I will cease paying for the rented server I would like to make sure that every the data in difficult drives will be totally and securely erased. I found many nice programs online but every seem to require a ISO image so the machine boots from the CD or USB device. That option does not work for me because I only can access the server remotely so I would need an executable ready software instead of an image disk. Can someone suggest any software or a solution for this? I would assume that the data middle would destroy my drives at the end of the contract or destroy the data upon my request, but nowadays we can't trust no one so really I would prefer to do it myself.
